Welcome to Kpex
This is the official course for Kpex, CAF Corporation's CAPEX cost-intelligence platform. By the end you will be able to find your way around the whole platform, build an estimate from start to finish, and use the calibration tools that keep every figure in today's money and your location.
You don't need any previous experience with Kpex. A basic grounding in cost estimating helps, but every concept is explained the first time it comes up.
The nine modules
The course moves from the general to the specific: first you understand the platform, then you build your first estimate, then you go deeper into the cost modules and tools.

What's in each lesson
Every lesson gives you several ways to learn. Use whichever suit you best:

At the end of the course there is a final exam, which leads to your certificate.
How to progress
- Go in order. The modules build on each other: Module 4 assumes you already know the dashboard (Module 2) and the AACE classes (Module 3).
- Always do the "Try it in Kpex" task. They take 2 to 10 minutes. Reading about a tool is not the same as using it.
- Take the module quiz before moving on. Every question comes with an explanation, so you learn from your mistakes too.
- Come back whenever you need to. Lessons and cheat sheets stay available as a reference while you work.
The Module 0 lessons and lesson 1.1 are free previews: you can watch them before you enrol.
Your Kpex access
Your enrolment comes with a Kpex account for 15 days, counted from your purchase. It is your lab for every "Try it in Kpex" task: activate it in lesson 0.2 and plan your study so you finish the exercises within that window. After 15 days your access to the application expires; the course lessons remain available.
What you get at the end
When you complete the course and pass the final exam, you receive two things:
- A certificate showing that you know how to use Kpex.
- A discount on your Kpex membership, so you can keep using the platform.

Key idea
You learn this course by doing: every lesson ends with a task inside Kpex, and every module with a quiz. Follow the order, do the exercises, and you will reach the final exam able to actually use the platform.
